I think doing different things is really cool and not a problem in itself. Being a designer and a photographer is a great combo, and you could probably show both in a professional light. Regardless of the type, just make sure all the work you show is relevant and high-quality.

About developers implementing poorly your designs, I think that's something you can mention as a shortcoming of the process you went through, but without giving it too much focus. There's only so much one can do to improve the process when working with other people… Make sure you can communicate the value of your deliverables, even if the final result wasn't perfect.

If that's happening in every project you participate… I'd recommend either trying hard to improve the process where you work — or just finding another place where you can be heard 😁

About your last note on working internally, I have the same situation now, working for 2 years in the same company. Just show the different projects or phases you've been there as different projects 😄
